RISE Moldova

RISE Moldova is an independent, non-profit organisation of investigative journalists, data specialists, and programmers. Founded in 2014, it was established by experienced journalists to pursue the kind of complex, document-intensive investigations that demand time and specialist skills. While the main focus has always been on their home country of Moldova, the media outlet specialises in cross-border work: tracing organised crime, high-level corruption, and the flow of illicit money and political influence through Eastern Europe.

RISE Moldova combines traditional investigative reporting with data analysis, visualisation, and collaboration with international investigative networks, publishing its findings across its website and digital platforms. The outlet's investigations have been recognised internationally— including nominations for the European Press Prize— and have had tangible, real-world impact on transparency and public accountability in the region. Widely regarded as one of Moldova’s most rigorous and influential investigative newsrooms, RISE has built a reputation for holding powerful interests to account.

With support from the International Fund, RISE Moldova will continue its highly impactful investigative coverage. The outlet will also repackage its investigations to reach broader audiences, producing cartoons and videos.
