Cu Sens
Cu Sens is an independent, women-led investigative media organisation founded in 2019 and based in Chișinău. Launched by a group of experienced reporters, it became the first national outlet in Moldova to focus on investigations in a video-first format. Cu Sens was founded via a crowdfunding campaign, and has since then sought to maintain its independence by relying on grants and support of its readers.
Cu Sens produces investigations, reportage, and explainers on issues of public interest, with a particular focus on exposing corruption, organised crime, conflicts of interest, human rights abuses, and foreign interference in Moldovan public life— including the flow of illicit money used to influence voters. The newsroom’s guiding belief is that investigative journalism makes information accessible and strengthens critical thinking and democratic participation across society.
The news team's reporting has been recognised at the national Journalists of the Year Gala and at Romania’s Superscrieri awards, and the team is a member of the Global Investigative Journalism Network.
With support from the International Fund, Cu Sens will continue its work producing video investigations, no-commentary reportages, and fact-checks with a focus on key political issues, developments, and decisions.
