Oameni și Kilometri

Oameni și Kilometri— “People and Kilometres”— is an independent media organisation founded in 2016 and based in Chișinău, with more than a decade of experience in narrative and field journalism. Its journalists travel the length and breadth of Moldova to tell the untold stories of the country’s communities, specialising in long-form reportage, on-the-ground reporting, and documentary photography. The outlet documents everyday realities and gives voice to the people and groups too often invisible in public life, working from the conviction that journalism is a public good.

Oameni și Kilometri's distinctive storytelling has earned both national and international recognition, including a first prize for reportage at Romania’s prestigious Superscrieri awards. The team has also championed documentary photography in Moldova through exhibitions and fellowships. Oameni și Kilometri publishes across its website and social media, with a growing emphasis on video formats.

With support from the International Fund, Oameni și Kilometri will maintain its impactful editorial production, continue growing its audience, particularly on social media, and further develop its audience engagement strategies through exhibitions and book publishing.
