GorisLAB

GorisLAB is a community-based organization that runs MediaPoint, a regional news outlet serving communities across Armenia’s southern Syunik province— one of the country’s most remote and strategically sensitive border regions. MediaPoint creates journalism in multiple formats, from text reporting and daily photo stories to video, focused on the events, problems, and developments that shape life in the region.

The news publisher pays particular attention to local government, civic participation, and the social issues that national media tend to overlook. MediaPoint has played an active role in documenting the realities faced by Syunik’s residents, including the arrival and resettlement of thousands of families displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh in 2023. Distributing its content across its website and social media channels, MediaPoint works to ensure that audiences in Syunik — too often underserved by the national information space — have access to credible, locally grounded reporting.

With support from the International Fund, MediaPoint will be able solidify its position as Syunik’s leading independent outlet, providing access to accurate information in a crucial, politically sensitive period for Armenia.
