Citizen's Voice
Citizen's Voice (CVMedia) is a regional, citizen-centred media platform serving the communities of northern Armenia. Run by the Center for Community Mobilization and Support NGO, it focuses on the issues that shape daily life in Armenia's regions: the environmental impact of mining and hydropower, community and local-governance problems, human rights, agriculture, and the search for sustainable, alternative paths to development.
A defining feature of the platform is its participatory approach: through a dedicated "alert" channel, residents can flag environmental, community, and rights-related concerns directly, which the newsroom then investigates and amplifies. Reporting across its website, video, and live broadcasts on social media, Citizen's Voice gives a voice to rural and regional communities whose concerns are often overlooked by national outlets, and works to hold decision-makers and industry to account on the questions that most affect local people and their environment.
With the International Fund's grant, CVMedia will continue to support citizens and civil society actors from socially and environmentally marginalized communities and regions of Armenia by providing them with tools and a platform to publicly voice concerns, counter false narratives, and promote positive information during pre- and post-election periods. In particular, the organization will work on improving its social media strategy and presence.
