Febrayer Network

The Febrayer Network was created by independent media outlets from the Middle East and North Africa region to provide support that European and US donors often cannot offer. Its mission is to build a sustainable and secure ecosystem for independent media in the Arabic-speaking region by supporting media practitioners who share progressive values and are committed to serving the public interest. As a solidarity network, Febrayer enables journalists to train and support one another by sharing experiences and addressing common challenges. The network has received funding to explore the feasibility of establishing a Regional Fund for Public Interest Media, to foster multi-stakeholder consensus on the Fund’s governance model, and to secure initial commitments from the donor community.
