Ritu Rudusa

Rita Ruduša, is a media professional with an extensive career in public interest journalism and media development. She entered journalism in the nineteen-nineties as a correspondent for Diena, the first independent newspaper in Latvia after the restoration of the country’s independence. She has worked for the Latvian Service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Prague and has served as a commissioning editor and later as programme director of Latvian Public Television.
Rita Ruduša is the founder and first executive director of the Baltic Centre for Media Excellence, which grew from a small NGO startup to an internationally recognised media support organisation. She is active in public diplomacy and has represented Latvia at the UNESCO International Programme for the Development of Communication from 2021 to 2024.
Rita has delivered training for media professionals in the Baltics, Eastern Partnership countries, and Northern Africa, and her areas of expertise include media literacy, ethics, and fundraising. Rita Ruduša is the author of two books, and has also written scripts for several creative documentaries.
