The Walfadjri Group is a leading national media outlet in Senegal, reaching audiences across the country via digital terrestrial television (DTT) and Canal Plus decoders, throughout the sub-region via Eutelsat satellite, and the Senegalese diaspora via our digital platforms.  Founded in 1984, the group has become one of the most influential independent media companies in Senegal.Walfadjri operates a diversified multimedia platform that includes Walf TV, a national television channel; Walf FM, a popular radio station; WalFadjri, a daily newspaper; and a rapidly expanding digital presence through their WalfNet website and YouTube channel.The main challenge is the heavy financial dependence on advertising revenue and state support, which threatens its editorial independence and long-term sustainability.  The grant will help Walfadjri strengthen its digital transformation, newsroom capacity, and financial resilience, ensuring that it can maintain its role as a trusted voice for democracy, culture, and social debate in Senegal.
