Founded in 2011, GK provides in-depth journalism focused on context and understanding to support democracy and human rights. Unlike breaking news outlets, the organization emphasizes transparency, politics, economy, security, environment, and gender with a human rights perspective. GK, like most media in Ecuador, is facing a complex situation of sustainability due in large part to the recession and the economic crisis caused by the threats of organized crime in this country. With this grant GK, will be able to ensure continued access to high-quality, explanatory journalism for the Ecuadorian public.
