El Diario

Operating for more than 90 years, El Diario is a family-owned media group comprising three local newspapers and a radio station within the provinces of Manabi and Santo Domingo, an area with a combined population of two million. Both provinces are considered among the most dangerous in the country due to the action of drug cartels. El Diario is the main news producer in the area and the only one with more than 10 working journalists. El Diario is currently in the process of evolving from a legacy organization focused mostly on print into a digital multiplatform news outlet, following a significant reduction in newspaper sales and other revenue during and following the pandemic.
