Association of Independent Publishers

AIP is a national membership organisation of small, independent print and online publishers in South Africa, founded in 2005. The organisation is dedicated to building the sustainability of the sector through research, policy work, and training. AIP’s most recent project is the setting up of the Digital News Transformation Fund, with Google funding, to support independent publishers across South Africa go online. AIP has received targeted legal support and advice to help establish the fund. AIP has a website and distributes information via Facebook, X, and YouTube.
