Ghetto Radio

Ghetto Radio, founded in 2008 and based in Nairobi, Kenya, has grown into a dynamic media platform. It operates regionally, covering a 120 km radius across Nairobi and its environs, but through its digital transformation it now engages audiences both nationally and globally. The station is accessible through multiple platforms, including radio at 89.5FM in Nairobi and its surroundings, as well as its website (ghettoradio.co.ke), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Working in a volatile political and economic climate, and needing technological upgrades and added newsroom capacity to stay competitive, Ghetto Radio has received funding to grow its revenue and strengthen its impact within the community.
