“I am proud of the steps that the International Fund took in 2023 to advance its mission,” wrote CEO Nishant Lalwani in the foreword to the report. “We published our first strategy, expanded the global coalition supporting our work, and increased our total investment in news publishers in our focus countries to over $8 million USD across 31 portfolio organizations.”
The International Fund plans to continue rapidly scaling up its work in 2024, including as it prepares to open its new headquarters in Paris and commit an additional $20–24 million USD in funding to support media ecosystems in low- and middle-income countries.
